Heat Resistance
Although Meganite® remains stable and undamaged in temperatures up to 212ºF (100ºC), high heat or flame will damage your surface. To protect your Meganite® from heat damage, always use a hot pad or a trivet with rubber feet when using hot pots, or heat-generating appliances like electric skillets or electric cooking pots.
Cleanliness
Meganite® surfaces are perhaps the easiest surfaces to clean and maintain. To keep your countertop looking immaculate, just wipe with a damp cloth or sponge. Food residue can be easily removed with a mild detergent or glass cleaner. If your to-do list could do without “reseal granite countertop,” this is a definite advantage.
Scratch Resistance
Meganite® is not scratch-proof. Surface markings are more visible on monotone colors than multi-colored surfaces. Always use a cutting board. Major scratches can be removed by a certified Meganite® fabricator.
Fabrication
Meganite® surfaces are installed with imperceptible seams. That means you can smoothly connect your countertops, backsplashes and sinks into a one-piece kitchen system. If conspicuous seams aren’t in your design plans, this is a definite advantage.
Warranty

Does Meganite's warranty cover damage caused by heat?
No it does not. We always recommend the use of a hot pad or a trivet when dealing with hot items.
Does Meganite® require intensive care and maintenance?
No it does not. Meganite® is easy to clean. Soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner is all that is necessary for day-to-day care of your Meganite® countertop. Minor scratches, burns or discoloration are also easy to repair. Major damage should be repaired by a Certified Fabricator/Installer of Meganite®.
Is Meganite® resilient against surface damage?
Meganite® is known to be structurally more resistant against surface damage than other types of countertops. However, it should be noted that all acrylic solid surface is able to be damaged by excessive force or pressure. Cutting directly on acrylic contertops will scratch the surface, however scratches can be removed.
Is Meganite® able to withstand heat? Am I able to put a hot pot or pan directly on it?
We do not recommend placing a hot pot directly on Meganite®. Although Meganite® remains stable and undamaged in temperatures up to 212ºF (100ºC), high heat or flame will damage your surface. In most cases, this damage can be repaired. Is Meganite® resistant against stains?
Meganite® is stain-resistant. Because Meganite® is nonporous, stains can't penetrate the surface, so it's easy to clean and maintain. Unlike natural stone, Meganite® never requires sealing.
Is a Meganite® Countertop safe to use for food preparation?
Yes, Meganite® is NSF 51 certified for both food and splash zones; its nonporous surface resists staining and prevents absorption of moisture and food materials, which can harbor harmful bacteria. Meganite® is easy to clean.
